What can I say, I'm a wierd one. My whole life revolves around heavy equipment. It is what I know and always have known. At age 4 my dad took me to my first Vancouver BC Ritchie Bros. Auction. I've been hooked on the world of heavy equipment ever since. I have recently uploaded videos of me taking my 1 year old son to look at Ritchie Bros. equipment. He is as interested in it as I was, and I hope his interest will pursue into the 4th family generation. I own and operate Ganges Excavating Services Ltd. on Saltspring Island, BC, off of Vancouver Island. I live in Canada. I work every day on the Gulf Island of saltspring Island. Some viewers may recognize me. Most will not. I'm not trying to prove anything, nor flaunt anything. I'm just a regular guy that likes to take videos of his daily life and interests and post them on-line. This has been an interest of mine for a year or so. I also own a 1/3rd intest in our family placer gold mine property. I don't like getting specific about that, So don't press me about it. I Love what I do. I hope my son grows up beside me doing the same as what I love doing. If he grows to be a dentist, I love him just the same. I love rusty old equipment just as much as the new stuff. Old equipment has character to it, but in the end it is all scrap metal in a slag pot. I just hope to make my business ambitions pay off, and one day I can retire doing what I love.
