Jul 27, 2008 - Which people are you talking about? 2 Million Iraqis left the country during the war. Who remained was killed, imprisoned, blown away, wounded and only the 15% of the remained Iraqis still love the US but they want the US troops out now. Yes we both should go there in a nice coffee shop in Baghdad without troops around us only us and the Iraqis and see ... you might be surprised
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Wow the economy isn't bad ... I believe you are not one of those 0.5 Million people who lost their jobs between January and June. I suggest you to get more information concerning how many lay-off announcements there are around in any setor of the industry excluding the pharma companies and the oil companies ..... wonder why?
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - You're right i'm not one of them. I said the economy is not bad...i did not imply that it was great.
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I would love to go back. I know you probably do not want to hear this, but we did a lot of humanitarian work. That stuff just is not newsworthy.
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - We did not attack a country of peasants. We invaded with the intention of getting rid of Saddam and re-establishing their government. Maybe it was not done the best way but our country is going to be safer in the long run.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Isn't bad, isn't great ... it's shitty and getting worse
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - ok. People keep saying that but I have yet to see it as bad as the media makes it out to be.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Sure like distrying the best health care system in Middle east, with non drinkable water and cholera epidemic. And honesty, if you did some humanitarian help why you didn't do it before the war instead of bringing an Iraqi kid to LA to be operated to reconstruct his face showing how good Americans are. Well that kid could have still his face in 2003.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - As in Vietnam, the GREAT USA never attacks big coutries but countries where the victory is easy because they don't have a reasonable army. So coward!!! You had no right to attack Saddam even if he is a tyrant without the international approval and valid reason.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - It wasn't American business to do that. If they really wanted to remove Saddam they had to do that in the first gulf war when there was a reason for that but they didn't because they knew they were the ones who put Saddam in place. Yes Saddam, like Bin Laden, Noriega and Pinoche' all "gentlemen" put in place by the CIA to promote "democracy". Yeah democracy with criminal dictators is pretty weird to digest
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Their water was not drinkable before the war. You are right though. there are casualties and that is unfortunate. If the United States was attacked I know no civilians would be spared. At least no one was intentionally trying to disfigure the kid. It is an unfortunate circumstance.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Maybe because you still have a job. Easy to talk. I was in Italy recently and even if the Euro is extremely strong the impact of the recession in the US is devastating any coutry .... but Mr. Dorothy over the rainbow believes in the Alice in Wonderland
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I'm not saying we haven't made mistakes, but you're playing the conspiracy theory game. We may have made mistakes with putting people in power...it was just the right thing to do at the time.
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I believe that we will overcome this period and bounce back. If people are so concerned for jobs then we should start getting rid of illeagals.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Please gimme a break. Have you ever been in the Arab countries? I did several times. They are not rich but they have schools, Universities, transportations and they are not Darfur or Afghanistan especially Iraq.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - yeah I would have love to see the reaction of the US if it was attacked the way Iraq was .... pretty curious to see the faces of the people with someone imposing their will at home. Th fact is that Americans never saw a real war at home during the last 1.5 centuries. WWI and WW2 were not played in the US soil so people in this country have no clue of the meaning of destruction, starvation, epidemies, subjugation ...
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - ... easy to talk. If 9/11 shoched so much the Americans in a couple of hours just imagine the meaning of 5 years war in Iraq or the bombarment of London. It's like 1000 9/11 a month.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - the right thing to do putting in place criminals rather than honest democratic leaders? Right thing for who? I really have to record your last entence and show it around the world to my friends in South ASmerica and in Europe and see their reactions. You have no ideas how many friends I have who have parents, husbands and relatived desaparecidos in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay because of the "democratic choice called Pinoche'" the bloodiest dictator of the 20th century.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - yeah the scape goat. Those people who do the jobs ... Americans will never do anymore because they are too shitty. Definitely the illegal immigration id "fundamental" in the recession. Strange you pay much less than normal people who work 16 hours (more than usual) a day jobs you will never do. Actually this brings down the costs. but i'm against illegal immigration because is wrong and because is exploitation of desperate people
albatrossforlife Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I am not saying that the outcome was ideal. Read what I am actually saying and not what you wish it said.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - I perfectly read it. You justify the fact that you put criminals in power and them you are worried about the outcome hat was not great. Not the way to go because criminals are criminals and the image of United States is already fucked up since years with South America, Vietnam and now Iraq and Bin Laden. Do you want democracy, well show democracy not that you support dictators or use them or put them in power for your personal advantage
PatrickWJ Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - Look at your candidates and look at gallup polls or other public opinion polls. The candidates's positions rarely reflect the positions of the public. Also, as far as democratic theory goes, look at works of Robert Dahl, Noam Chomsky, C. Wright Mills or Robert Putnam. The idea of the US being a democracy is fairly elementary thinking; your 7th grade civics class is not the definitive authority.
freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - The US is not a Democracy. It's an Oligarchy
thecreammaster1 Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - I agree with this statement completely. So disconnected from reality and distracted with electronic entertainment. I do not think the 40-48% is anywhere near accurate as well. These numbers are lies. The gap is actually much bigger, but look at history the last 2 elections were rigged. The television cannot be trusted, Orwell was a visionary.

freedomanddemocracy Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - There is nothing heroic in attacking a coutry of peasants showing off all the best artillery and even in that case not understanding the difference between fighting a war and fighting terrorism. There is only one reason the US is in Iraq and this is stealing oil and imposing the western coulture, sorry the American culture, to the world. Maybe next time you will invade Italy for pasta and France for wine.
