My friend Doug created this simple to use Esbit fueled stove. It boils 2 cups (1 liter) of water in 10-12 minutes on average. Esbit stoves are often overlooked in the quest to go ultralight. They are easy to light and use. The only downsides are Esbit coats pots with soot and some do not care for it's signature smell. Used with the stove was a GSI Glacier Stainless Steel cup/pot, with a lid of aluminum foil. Both items are sold on our website, www.freezerbagcooking.com Esbit tablets can be found in most outdoor stores.

Aug 19, 2008 - This is the kind of stove that works for wilderness backpacking. Keep it light! Great info.
