Jul 24, 2008 - wow. I'm sure the grip is very low on extremely cold tires and all, but how do so many of these guys wreck on the warm up laps? I remember Roberto Guerrero did it in 92 as well.

Aug 20, 2008 - Yes, it was the first *LIVE* Indy 500 telecast (prior to that, the race was on tape delay).

Sep 30, 2008 - Strange that it took almost an entire week to finally get the race in the same year it was broadcast live for the first time. I was so frustrated after Sneva's warm up lap crash and the subsequent delay that followed. "Is this race ever going to happen?", I asked myself after that. Finally, after two days of rain delay, plus, a warm up lap crash six days later, the first Indy 500 broadcasted live was started.
altroval Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - No, that was 1987. A tire came of Tony Bettenhausen's car and Roberto Guerrero struck it at speed. Unfortunately, the tire just failed to clear an uncovered grandstand in turn 3 and fatally struck Lyle Kurtenback in the top row.

Jul 17, 2008 - That was the very first Live Coverage from ABC Sports at Indianapolis. Am I right?
