This is a clip of GM's new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany. Piloting the super fast luxury sports sedan is John Heinricy, who is General Motor's Performance Division Executive and a former professional race car driver. This brings the Cadillac CTS-V in an exclusive sub 8 minutes club exclusively for super exotic supercars and hypercars. Equipped with GM's LSA engine (related to the ZR1's LS9 engine) producing 563hp and 550 lbs/ft of torque, the CTS-V astonishingly ran the ring at 7 minutes and 59.32 seconds, making it the fastest production luxury sports sedan ever on the ring. Faster than its main competitors: the new BMW M5 Twin-Turbo, Audi RS6, and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. The car was completely stock, with stock tires, and with no modifications to the engine, suspension, or electronics. A harness bar, fire extinguisher kit, and a 6 point safety harness belt was equipped to prioritize the driver's safety, as well as several cameras mounted on the car, which added on weight. The CTS-V they used was the 6-speed automatic version. Specifications: Engine: 6.2L V8 Supercharged Horse power: 563 hp Torque: 550 lbs/ft of torque Weight: 4200 lbs Gearbox: 6sp manual or 6sp auto with paddle shifters Brakes: Brembo 6-piston fronts / 4-piston rears Suspension: Magnetic Ride Control =============

May 16, 2008 - Oh my god! CTS-V owns the competition! And no, unlike some people, I'm not gonna say "2st comment". Cadillac really nailed it this time! The M3, C63 AMG, RS4, and IS-F are gonna be nervous... ha ha. Thank you, Cadillac!

May 16, 2008 - Thank you, Cadillac! The CTS-V is a true masterpiece! Once again- after testing- this 550 hp monster does its job- and it shows, go for the win!

May 16, 2008 - GM has admitted that they used full slick tires and a heavily modified car for this lap. ""We used full slick tires" said John Heinricy". Source: Pistonheads. GM has made quite a reputation for lying about lap times. This video is typical of their propaganda.

May 18, 2008 - gp900bJ your a moron this isnt a Nissan.
monaroCountry Says:
May 18, 2008 - People believe this time because it seems believable, they also do not have that cheater tag like Nissan when doing Nur laps. How else can you explain........7:29 480hp and 3800lbs versus 7:59 550hp and 4200lbs. Autocar did two tests on the previous GTR the first for Nissan before the GTR's release this Nissan GTR did a 7:59 lap. Autocar then re tested a production GTR the best they could do was 8:28.

May 20, 2008 - Sportauto have just independently tested the new CTS-V around nurburgring. They achieved a lap time of 8:52.26 before the engine dropped a valve and blew on the second lap. Horst von Saurma's review was scathing. Clearly GMs lies are catching up with them. Shame.
monaroCountry Says:
May 20, 2008 - Nissan has been sued for falsely advertising the GTR's ring capabilities. A well known top European professional driver only achieved a 10 minute lap. Before completing a whole lap (typical Nissan trick) the car promptly burnt to the ground. The racing driver and spectators clapped having gotten rid of an ugly monstrosity. On another note a well known top European driver has scored the perfect spy shots of the CTS-V's back end.

Jun 19, 2008 - gp900bJ: It isn't running slicks. Look at the tire around 6:07. It's not the best quality video, but you can see texture on the tire.

May 15, 2008 - Nice time. This car would be bonkers if they would lighten it to under two tons!
