(Recorded 21st April.... bastarding video wouldn't upload. Again. GAAAAH.) It's been a while since I've done some Steely Dan, hasn't it? Oy vey... Anyway, it's here now, with white-rimmed sunglasses and everything. Living hard will take its toll. (And yes, if you are wondering - I'm deliberately singing like a stereotypical Jew in this. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm proud of my Jewish background, but I'm also willing to take the piss every now and then.)

May 21, 2008 - Basically, I miss living in Poole, which is what I'm comfortable with calling "my town". It's a good thing my dad still lives there so I can go back there regularly.
Trookieness Says:
May 21, 2008 - Say whatever you want, but I stick by my answer. Fagen doesn't even know I exist, and if he did, he would move on to a different video as quickly as possible.

May 21, 2008 - How can you be sure of what's in a 60 years old man's brain.I'm 10 years younger than him and I have plenty of teenager's whims.Music kept me from aging too fast.
Trookieness Says:
May 21, 2008 - I didn't say anything like that! (Besides, my dad's 60s, I'm used to 60 year olds) All I'm saying is why would a Grammy winning, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter watch me cover his songs? To go back to the original point - requests just don't feel right. When you listen to music, wouldn't you rather choose the song that goes on?
Bilbokai Says:
May 21, 2008 - Just for fun........he might have five minutes "to loose".Besides,I'm not quite sure he cares that much about his Grammys and tutti quanti.......Each one of us has his own opinions .
Bilbokai Says:
May 21, 2008 - Wish you all the best. Now I have a special request to my CD player:HAITIAN DIVORCE.........
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - I never saw him as the type to wonder around YouTube. He's just not the kinda guy who'd do that.
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - Okay....thank you, I suppose, even though I'm not sure what you're wishing me the best for. :P (Is writing "Haitian Divorce" in capital letters a form of subliminal messaging? XD)
Bilbokai Says:
May 22, 2008 - i've never happenned to wish somebody the worst...The fact that we haven't known each other doesn't mean i shouldn't wish you positive things for the times being or the future that's all.
Bilbokai Says:
May 22, 2008 - Answer #2 in french this time.Essaierais je d'avoir une quelconque influence sur ta pensée en insistant sur HAITIAN DIVORCE qui était plus ou moins le point de depart de notre chat.A vrai dire ,je n'en sais rien et ça a peu d'importance tu ne crois pas?
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - That's not what I mean - I mean that when someone wishes the best, it's for a specific reason and I was unclear to what your reason was.
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - My French is a bit rusty (which isn't good because I had a French exam yesterday) but I think you're saying that you're trying to have an influence on my thoughts by insisting on Haitian Divorce which was more or less the leaving point of our chat. (I know that "chat" generally means cat, but I'm guessing). It's true to say that you don't know anything and it's not very important.
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - Yeah, that was the worst translation ever. It doesn't help that I don't have a dictionary on me and my brain has melted due to the philosophy exam I had today. I think I'll go to sleep for a while....
Bilbokai Says:
May 22, 2008 - Forget it.My english is not perfect either. For me ,the challenge was to get this song stuck in your head. But i suppose your answer is that I'm very unelikely to succeed.
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - All I want to get across is the point that I only sing a song that I feel like singing on the night, and I don't even have any Steely Dan songs in my head at the moment. I'm in a Cheap Trick mood. I just wish that people would get it into their heads that "no requests" means exactly that. *sigh*
Bilbokai Says:
May 22, 2008 - Oops........
Trookieness Says:
May 22, 2008 - Damn right.

May 23, 2008 - I wonder how you can get all these songs by heart.Kind of weird melodies(Steely Dan,Don Fagen)although very refined and subtle. The one i dig the most is the nightfly.By the way i'm a pianist and I'm no longer bilbokai.
Trookieness Says:
May 23, 2008 - I know them by heart because there's just something about Steely Dan that I love (obsessively). Um, okay.

Jun 3, 2008 - Greeting's Becky... As (I believe you know, by now) I am a big fan of Steely Dan/Fagen/Becker. JMHO, this song resonates almost a 75% New York sound than the L.A.-themed vibe this song is implying. Just listen to the saxophone and rhythm guitar, not entirely an L.A. sound. I have been to enough L.A. jazz clubs to know this. Again, JMHO. Just for fun, what are your thoughts of this Fagen sound? Aaron A. Castellon South Bay (in the L.A. Area), CA, USA

Jun 3, 2008 - I totally love this song.... It rocks.... there were a few mistakes on this... but I love this song..... So, anyone who covers it, is cool by me...

Jul 7, 2008 - I would like to retract that comment because you're young, enthusiastic and adorable. So I'll grant you special permission to be a little annoying. Especially if you're going to take this somewhere ... that's the burning question.

Jul 10, 2008 - funny... you don't LOOK Jewish.
Trookieness Says:
Jul 15, 2008 - If I had a quid for every time I heard that. :)

May 21, 2008 - OK, Oban is not your town as Caen(Normandy) is not mine ,so what? You've got plenty of time ahead of you to move some place else...It's about the same for me .France is boring me to death most of my time.
