Jul 29, 2008 - There are more than 10. Teermanam is not a jati. Trishra, mishra, chatushra, khanda and sankeerna are jatis. But yes lot of jati swaras end with a Teermanam. Teermanam is a way of ending the jatis and is usually repeated twice or thrice. It usually done in the third speed or the Dhruta kala most of the time.
