Aug 11, 2007 - it should be avabile on most ford motles including focus
SidiGenius Says:
Sep 12, 2007 - this is seriously bad for road safety...as if cars were not distracting enough of drivers attention.... sheesh, if this is in the back seat and the driver is discconnected in all respects, it cuts it, but when a driver has any connection in anyway to this device, even as a listener it will deliver more deaths on roads from distracted drivers...good one Ford, you really know how to kill your customers..keep at it before all the oil is gone!
bcorte Says:
Sep 22, 2007 - It is on the Focus, as of vehicles built 8/27 and afterward.

Sep 25, 2007 - YOU COMPLETE MORON!!! SYNC is desinged to be used as hands free....meaning your eyes stay on the road. An feature SYNC has were you need to look at the screen only works if the vehicle is traveling 3mph or less. Try doing your homework next time before leaving a post. I'm sure you drive a Honda or Toyota anyhow.

Nov 1, 2007 - youre a fucking idiot.

Nov 1, 2007 - the first moron that says it will cause more deaths id ike u to expain that and this will be a nice feature and hopefully on other cars as well.

Dec 9, 2007 - Smart move only allowing text messages to be physically read while the car is stopped.
buzman1985 Says:
Dec 20, 2007 - SidiGenius, did you watch the video?
SidiGenius Says:
Dec 20, 2007 - Yep,so you believe the rhetoric of Ford and the tech boffins, hey it SEEMS like a good idea, anything to minimise driver distraction, look at hands free mobiles, drivers are still distracted and people die, driving several tonnes of steel puts a lethal weapon at your disposal, you are distracted for a split second its enough to kill. GPS devices already do that increasing numbers now, phones definitely do that... and these little darlings will too. Watch the road
buzman1985 Says:
Dec 20, 2007 - People are still going to use their phone, PDAs, and MP3 players. At least they can keep their hands on the wheel while they do it now.
SidiGenius Says:
Dec 20, 2007 - Sync may seem a great thing but a car is a vehicle, not a bar or concert hall, its a seriously dangerous thing driving a car,do you need that to be spelled out? how safe is fumbling through a Main menu, making phone calls, trying to select music genre's and applications menus? the features may seem appealing, they may even seem safe!, but sorry, it's the opposite, the main menu voice should say "watch the Road buddy and stop risking others with your distraction. Keep the tech to safer places.
johnnyane Says:
Dec 21, 2007 - Hey "Genius", here's some more info you probably don't know. Ford has an exlusive deal with microsoft and Sync for 18 months. After that time, Microsoft will be able to offer Sync to every other manufacturer. Let's see hopw many other auto companies share your concern for safety and which ones decide to get on board with technology. If you're lucky, Toyota and Honda will purchase Sync so you won't have to buy an American product to enjoy Sync.
SidiGenius Says:
Dec 21, 2007 - of course they will all want to put it out there... doesnt take a genius like you to figure it out...you dont get it and obviously never will, your primary responsibility is to drive, its more than watching the road, hands free phones are just as dangerous as a mobile to your ear... there are way too many deaths from people just being distracted by their in car sytems already... if you are devoted to your ipod, go for a walk and use it there
FR4NCH1SE Says:

KrellLab Says:
Mar 1, 2008 - Fords Navigation system unnecessarily requires vehicle to be stopped to input data by PASSENGER (dangerous and wastes fuel). Buy a Honda
Countach55 Says:
Apr 7, 2008 - heaven forbid we would EVER want to buy an American car. Its not like it supports the economy or anything. And dont spin the usual "well they build Fusions in mexico so ur not really buying american" bullshit to me. Theres alot more to a car company then frickin 200 employees in one plant.
havocs29 Says:
Apr 25, 2008 - That's not true. Yes you have to be stopped but it can be easily bypassed for $50. The passenger does not need to do it. Not everyone even has a passenger moron. Go get your piece of shit honda
GadgetMan777 Says:
Aug 28, 2008 - All stock nav system are required to be stopped to edit, retard. You can bypass this. Don't buy a Honda.
