The Obama campaign is out registering voters (of all parties). When possible we are also making bumper stickers and buttons available for a donation. After all, Barack Obama is not taking public money.

Jul 6, 2008 - I'm not even sure if I'm registered but my time is running out I can not go my first Presidential election without voting. I don't have t.v. so hopefully I won't have to regret my first presidential election I was old enough to vote in by not getting a chance to vote.

Jul 6, 2008 - Obama '08!!!!
Largo64 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Call the registrar of voters in your county to see if you are registered. If not, you can still register if it's more than fifteen days before the election (November 4). There's still time.

Jul 7, 2008 - Thanks for helping register people! What a great service to those communities. :)

Jul 7, 2008 - good job Larry voting is a waste when people do not use it
GoMetricToday Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Thank you for getting the word out. In my small town I am encouraging people to register.

Jul 7, 2008 - I refuse to vote. When you no longer need to believe in god to hold public office in every state in the union, then I'll vote.

Jul 7, 2008 - Fascist are afraid of two things: 1. Outright violent revolution. 2. Very heavy voter turnout. Slow down American fascism! VOTE!
Largo64 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I understand your frustration with that aspect of the society in which we live. But if it is ever to change, it will only change when more, not fewer people vote. However, I won't harangue you with crap about privilege vs duty. You've already heard that stuff. Your decision is your own. Screw whoever doesn't like it.

Jul 7, 2008 - Thanks for your involvement, Larry. I tend to be far less optimistic about Obama than you, but I CERTAINLY don't want McCain in office. Anyway, I don't believe in miracles :)

Jul 9, 2008 - I'm all for Obama!
danielnz1 Says:
Jul 10, 2008 - In my humble opinion. In fairly freely informed democracies! If, you don't vote, why should you complain? Obama's a positive influence for the good Of America and America's image though-out the wider World! He's globally popular and with well educated too, because they see him as America's real hope of reason. Tin-pot dictators will shrink in the eyes of their people and the world, as he eloquently debates openly the realities of a modern inter-connected World. Yes you can, elect this man!
Rhonda9 Says:
Jul 19, 2008 - I like the Democratic platform, but see a need for greater change than they offer anymore. I am torn and not too happy with what the two parties offer. Much of the same rhetoric. I wish we could have stronger third parties. Our country needs a complete overhaul.
47f0 Says:
Jul 22, 2008 - Rhonda - the ship of state is large, and is not easily or quickly turned from its path. You may vote Nader or Barr or even write in Paul - but that revolution simply won't happen, because we are not electing a monarch - we are electing a president, who has limited powers under our Constitution. So you can toss your vote on some 6% candidate as a symbolic gesture of futility - or you can choose a viable candidate who can actually turn this ship a few more degrees away from the iceberg.
47f0 Says:
Jul 22, 2008 - nige, I urge you to watch Obama's speech on religion in government, given in a church, no less. He's a constitutional scholar, and completely understands why our secular constitution not only protects we few, we happy godless few (sorry Will) but actually protects the deluded faithful - and as much as I look forward to that joyous day when the last tyrant is strangled with the entrails of the last priest, I kind of like the idea that if you want to believe in a fairy tale - it's allowed.
TheStoicAgnostic Says:
Aug 12, 2008 - that is terrible
TheStoicAgnostic Says:
Aug 12, 2008 - then vote for a third party candidate your vote is only a waste if you do not vote for the person you feel is the best candidate for you the whole wasting your vote stuff is just a self fulfilling prophecy
47f0 Says:
Aug 13, 2008 - "the whole wasting your vote stuff is just a self fulfilling prophecy" Nope. It's simple pragmatism applied to the reality of the current electorate, and embodied in the words of the great philosopher and prophet - "You can't always get what you want - but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." I love starry-eyed idealists, but consider this - wouldn't this country be on a little different track today if those Nader votes in 2000 hadn't elected Bush?
