Oregon has hundreds maybe even thousands of back country lakes. One of these is Campbell Lake near the small town of Bly, Oregon. It's close enough for a day trip but far enough that there are not a ton of visitors. Access is limted to small winding mountain roads. Some of them dirt. In this unreleased video segment, host of Fishing Central Oregon the DVD, Gary Lewis spends an afternoon with friend Rich Gross in float tubes tempting these resident hungry brook and rainbow trout. I gotta tell you if you ever want a place to take kids to learn to fish, this is it! After we finished shooting and the sun went down, the water started boiling with surfacing trout! I had a chance to fish for change and had a blast. There are lunkers here too. My son caught several 20 plus inchers. There are no-fee camp sites with vault toilets, but that's about it. A self contained RV is your best bet. For more information on Campbell Lake go to: www.fishingcentraloregon.com
