May 16, 2008 - qaud sli and amd cpu bad those

foszlock Says:

May 16, 2008 - If u are buying an AMD 9850 CPU i think you should buy an amd 790fx chipset mobo with 2x HD 3870x2 insted of the Quad SLI.

DavyB Says:

May 16, 2008 - I was warned to choose Dual 9800GX2 instead of Dual HD 3870x2, after a friend showing me how horrible those cards were in his setup (which i thought were going to be great). the Asus Crosshair Formula (nForce 780a Chipset, 3-way SLI, SupremeFX II) will work with the AMD 9850 CPU aswell.

foszlock Says:

May 16, 2008 - And what was the problem with the 2 HD 3870x2?

DavyB Says:

May 16, 2008 - Running slow with all setting maxed out in each game he played, he's got the same specs of what i'm getting but with 2 3870x2's. I decide to choose something different to his so thats why i chose Dual 9800 GX2, i don't hate ATI but he warned he not to end up let him.

golem72002 Says:

May 16, 2008 - I take it you buy a 780A board. I would take 3 1gb 8800GTS (92). I have a phenom 9550 with a 3870 In crysis the CPu is only a 30% load ever where lol & I have crysis on high. after my update though I don't my screen selction of 1920 x 1200 :/

KIERANS1993 Says:

May 16, 2008 - the physx card is a waste of money dude! anyway the gx2's already have their own physics processors built in, save the 100 quid, get a 790i and an intel processor:D sounds good anyway

foszlock Says:

May 17, 2008 - And 1 more thing:D The picture of the phenom CPU is not for the x4 CPUs :D. The x4 Phenom icon has a wirting of: x4 at the upper right corner:)

pldawid93 Says:

May 17, 2008 - Just go with everything just get QX9450 nForce 790i Ultra 2gb 1600Mhz DDR3 One 9800 GX2 No PhysX That should easily max all games at that moniter and has room for upgrade.

N0F34R1488 Says:

May 21, 2008 - Get 3870X2 if you want a gaming rig now. They are better and cheaper than the GX2's. Those are like $600 each.Besides AMD and ATi scale better when combined. So if you're going nVidia card, you might as well get an Intel CPU. And also, you should just wait for the 4870X2 to come out! The specs for those sound amazing!!

ilevrp Says:

May 30, 2008 - erm ... not many games utilise (SP?) the PPU, UT3 does thoguh

bitanga698 Says:

May 31, 2008 - motherboard?????

DavyB Says:

May 31, 2008 - the Asus Crosshair II Formula (nForce 780a Chipset, 3-way SLI, SupremeFX II) AM2+

DavyB Says:

Jun 10, 2008 - If you can have Intel and ATI together, then why not AMD and nVidia.

DavyB Says:

Jun 10, 2008 - alot of the games i have play better with the nVidia GPU's, i've been using the AMD CPU's for a long time, few m8 of mine have Intel cpu's but they have serious problem's with them (maybe something to do with living in the UK), also my mites have Dual 3870x2 in they systems, i wanted to do something a bit different so Dual 9800GX2's were the way to go and i'm not a guy like Maxishine who can keep buying the latest tech and gear, i only buy what i want then i leave it for a few years.

sgdude1337 Says:

Jun 17, 2008 - get 2x2GB RAM, no physx card, and a 2x GTX 280, the gtx 280's scale better, have the option for tripple sli, and have physx built in (the whole 8 series and 9 series will get it later)

skatrvids Says:

Jun 24, 2008 - Get the newest ati 4870 graphics cards, they will be better than the nvidia cards.
