Siegfrieds Rheinfahrt - Götterdämmerung - Wagner Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau conducts the "hervorragendes" Deutsches Symphonie Orchestra Berlin. Sorry about the abrupt ending. It is too long and I had to cut somewhere. Exactly 50 years ago I did my own Rhine journey. A school friend and I cycled through Belgium to Cologne and thence all the way to Switzerland at Schaffhausen, then Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, Montreux, Lausanne. Don't ask how we got home! Thus I feel qualified to upload this piece ... if not musically, then because we visited every castle on route - and even stayed in one or two (Bacharach, Ehrenbreitstein)! Marvellous!

Aug 3, 2008 - Beautiful music! Bravo! TY Glenmed! P.S.-By the way the conductor on this video was arguably the finest German operatic baritone that ever lived.DFD was especially a phenomenal lieder singer.
